“In accordance with the purpose of First Evangelical Church (FEC), mission is defined as any endeavor outside our local congregation to manifest the kingdom of God and fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) by proclaiming and living the gospel, making disciples, planting churches and relating to the whole need, spiritually and physical, of humankind”
We deeply value the teaching and preaching of God’s word, the Bible. We also desire to grow deeper in our worship of God and our love and caring for one another as members of the family of God, our obedience and maturity as followers of Jesus Christ, and our evangelistic and outreach efforts to win a broken people to Jesus, including global missions. We are keenly aware that it is only by the enabling power of the Holy Spirit and much prayer that we can minister effectively to one another and to the world, and achieve a real sense of family in our congregation and church.
FEC has maintained an active missions ministry since the late ‘60s. We have supported 29 missionaries/mission organizations in 10 different countries (Kenya, Morocco, Hong Kong, Laos, Nigeria, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and the United States).
Our missionaries minister in the following areas:
- Student Ministries
- Mass Media and Counseling
- Evangelism
- Church Planting
- Theological Education
- China Ministries
- Bible Translation
Currently FECA’s mission budget is $500,000, of which more than 10% is set-aside for short-term programs/ projects with over 100 participants from our combined three member churches in ministries like these:
- Inner city urban ministries
- Indian tribal outreach in Nevada

FEC firmly believes that all Christ’s followers must obey His commandment, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matt. 28:19). We also believe in being light to the world through our actions as well as words, by lovingly ministering to those in need wherever we go, and working for justice in our society and world.
